To clarify — that would be Jimmy Webb, the Top 40 songwriter, not Jim Webb, the Senator. Your Webb wrote sublime songs like “Wichita Lineman” as well as bizarre ones like “Macarthur Park” (featuring the lyric “someone left the cake out in the rain. . .”). But that was before your time, as are most things.
